I was so excited to tackle this makeover for a wonderful customer. She told me that she absolutely loves blue and wants the table a coordinating color. Looking around I also saw that she likes to accentuate her decor with reddish maroon.
Fusion Mineral Paints has such beautiful colors that it is easy to find any color that would go great in anyone's decor. So I picked Midnight Blue for the China Cabinet with Limestone on the interior for a pop of color. For the Table makeover we chose Limestone for the legs, apron and chairs. We Chose General Finishes Brown Mahogany Stain for the table top to help pull the look all together with her Cabinets.
This is how the table was before we started. Lots of wear and tear from years of family meals and conversations. We brought new life to the table by completely sanding the top down to bare wood.
This is the beautiful after photo with the table set transformed. People have asked my customer if she got a whole new table set. For me that is an honor and a great testament to quality of work.
The China Cabinet
As you can see from the photo above the legs needed some work done. There was missing veneer and gouges in some parts of the wood. The first thing we did is use Bondo to fill in the missing veneer and sand everything smooth.
The next step we did on this china cabinet was to paint the interior with Limestone removing the shelves to get every nook and cranny. Apply 2 coats of Limestone and we applied 2 coats of sealer as well. Fusion Mineral Paints does not require a top coat because it is 100% Acrylic based paint. With Zero VOC. I prefer to add a top coat because I like to know that after I leave a customers home it is a truly protected piece.
The China Cabinet with Midnight blue is absolutely stunning and a true focal point for the kitchen. We staged the inside of the cabinet minimally to enhance the colors you could add pops of pink, red, orange or yellow to the inside of this cabinet to bring out the magnificent true colors of this piece.
